Marina Sergides is an accredited civil mediator and a practising barrister. With over 18 years of wide-ranging civil and public law expertise she is adept at dealing with negotiations. Specialises in, but not limited to, disputes arising in housing, homelessness, disrepair, possession, community care, public law and civil actions. Marina takes regular instructions from the Official Solicitor.
Marina also has experience in Inquest and Prison Law, working closely with bereaved families. While her legal experience makes Marina suitable for housing and public law claims, Marina’s practice as a qualified civil mediator encompasses other areas where civil and commercial disputes arise.
Calm and approachable Marina remains clear and authoritative; key ingredients making her an effective civil mediator. Marina adopts a collaborative approach to negotiation. She strongly believes a neutral setting provides the best opportunity to resolve. Even in the most intractable of disputes.
Marina is a mentor for students who are considering a career at the Bar, organised through Access to the Bar for All, and has a talent for discerning needs even when they are not articulated.
Marina was a visiting lecturer at Southbank University for post graduate students and has sat on the Governing Body of a local primary school.
In 2016, Marina co-founded The Vicky Sergides Foundation (TVSF), a stomach cancer charity of which she remains a Trustee.
Marina is always willing to have a confidential and informal discussion with parties prior to taking on a mediation.

What the parties say
- Marina was praised for her methodical approach and for understanding the issues that really mattered
- “She was patient and understanding with my client and her needs. Marina explained the mediation process in a clear way and made the client and parties feel at ease and supported. Marina played a big part in reaching settlement on the day and I liked that she insisted on drawing up terms of agreement before the parties left.” Feedback from Thul Khan, Housing Solicitor UCL Legal Advice Clinic
