Alex Grigg

Alex is a CEDR accredited mediator and a barrister with wide-ranging civil and public law expertise. He is also an adviser to The Oxford Process conflict resolution programme, which facilitates discreet high-level dialogue between the parties to some of the world’s most intractable conflicts.

As an experienced negotiator throughout his legal career (and during his previous business career) Alex is able to identify and assess opportunities for advancing mediations. Alex has a relaxed and approachable manner but is not afraid, where necessary, to test reality through probing questions. These attributes, combined with meticulous preparation, enable him to win the trust and confidence of participants at the very start of the mediation process.

A strong advocate of mediation, Alex believes that almost every dispute, whatever the issues, number of parties, or complexity, can be resolved through mediation. Alex is particularly skilled at helping parties to stop focusing on past conflict and to re-focus on a positive future.

Before coming to the Bar, Alex worked in the printing and publishing industry, at all levels from production trainee to Managing Director, from small and medium-sized privately owned companies to major PLCs.

Alex is always willing to have a confidential and informal discussion with parties prior to taking on a mediation.
